This might be the only time you’re excited by news from the IRS — the dreaded April 15th deadline has been extended by a few days!
Since April 15th falls on a holiday this year the tax deadline has been moved to April 18th. The holiday is Emancipation Day (honors the day President Abraham Lincoln signed the Compensated Emancipation Act) which is a public holiday in District of Columbia.
Also, the residents of Maine and Massachusetts have a little more time to celebrate because their tax deadline falls on April 19th, due to the Patriot’s Day!
- U.S Residents (excluding Maine & Massachusetts): Monday – April 18th, 2016
- Maine & Massachusetts Residents: Tuesday – April 19th, 2016
So make sure you are keeping track of all those Miles and Expenses and remember to Export your Data and send it to your accountant or use it when you are doing your taxes.
Happy Tax Season,
